Hot Off the Good Twin Bad Twin Blog

Which one of you is the Artist?

As a twin growing up people would ask, “Which one of you is the artist?”

Answering that question never seemed too big of a deal. I mean Good Twin could draw a freaking unicorn at age 4!  No doubt she was gifted – but if Good Twin was “the Artist,” what does that make Bad Twin?

Twins are type cast. The harmless intent to characterize twins, for identification purposes I guess, limited our possible growth.

When we were in High School we had a few shirts that were identical except for the color.  There was a strict rule that whom ever was dressed and in the bathroom first wore the shirt. The other one had to change.

I never realized the affect of the differentiation until I left for college. It was like we were two plants in one pot. After transplanting we were able to stretch out and fill in the space that the other one always occupied.

Our separation allowed us to wear the same shirt. We are the same. We are both artists. She sings like an angel and I’m a rock star when I belt out Karaoke.

Today, I am an Artist. Now you all know that Good Twin was a great inspiration, confidence builder and helped me open up my Etsy Shop.

But what you don’t know is that there was someone else who let me jump on the artist-wagon. Danny O invited me to participate in Woodshed two years ago based on a gut feeling that I would, his words, “bring it.” The Woodshed is a collaborative of artists that invade a gallery and take it over as a studio space. The week long creative marathon let me run amongst some pretty talented artists and I kept up the pace.

It was there that I sold my first piece of artwork right off the gallery wall.

Thank you Danny O. More than you will ever know, thank you. I didn’t have the courage to take the reigns but then you smacked the horses ass and sent me off for a wild ride!

Now…  I’d like to welcome Danny O to Etsy!

He’s a seasoned artist. He’s the real deal.
(Please click the pictures for a link.)
He doesn’t care is your house is a mess when he drops by for a visit. In fact, he’s psyched! My dinning room table post brunch, immortalized.
He helps love to bloom.
He paints.
He collages. (And offers prints of his collage for a mere 15 bucks!)
He talks, people listen. (Callisthenics @ Woodshed)
He’s a male model. (Vintage Bullworker available soon at Humpastuff @ Etsy)

Please take a minute to look at his website Danny O Studio Web Site and Danny O Studio on Etsy. You won’t be disappointed. You may even be inspired!

I love you Danny. Good Twin and I have never been closer. I feel like an Artist.

Today is an emotional day,

Bad Twin
